So, what have I got to show for the last few days!?

I have finally made something...with all good intentions of making a lot over the last several days.  I did get my altered art class for January fairly well planned-out and on paper (computer).  Not much to show there.  And I did get the tables in my studio cleaned off and most of the items put away (somewhere).  Several times I have felt like I was really making progress, but then, oops!, off to the emails and Pinterest or a new 'search'.  Gotta keep up with what is going on!
I love my computer gadgets though.  What did we ever do without them?
To the question...
I am showing a picture of two little items that I have made...a paper feather and a new-style flower from paper.  Most of the time I never know what I am going to do with the little items I make.  And such is the case with these.
But, since I am going to be doing altered books this year and making books too, I think I will find a place for these and some of the other items that I have around in my studio with no purpose.
I have also started with the doodlings again - zentangles or zendoodles.  We'll be doing these in the first altered art class.  So, I decided I need to have a few more to show of my own creations.  I used my sister former sudoku keeper/carrier as a container to keep them in.  It's purple and is large enough to work on the top like a desk.  In the bed...with my Ipod and Tablet on one side and the Nook on the other...plus my reading glasses and the remote for the fan.  What a life?!  I'll show you some photos of them also, but I want to practice with my Tablet...taking pictures, or scanning (as they call it) and saving them to put into this blog.  That could take a while.....
So, off I go because I have a urge to turn on some lights and get something else done...polyclayer are coming on Wednesday.  :-)

IPOD Bloopers!

"Speaking of bottoms I just emptied mine
Out about an hour ago to find one I needed
I love my button jar. Recently I found a neat container
For them so I can leave them out to look at them"

So occacionally our much beloved Ipods, which have a mind of their own (thanks, Steve, RIP), comes out with a good one...user beware!
This I got from a friend of mine...of course, we weren't really speaking of bottoms at all...lol.

I just had to pass this along from my good friend Eva.

The Beginning of a New Year - 2012 - the 69th year of my life

So this is the last few days of 2011 and I am ready and happy to begin a new year.  I have been able to settle down a little since Christmas and think about what I want in 2012.
Just before Christmas I was able to rid myself of some responsibilities with the art league (FCAL)...for which I am immensely grateful.  That will give me much more time to spend on developing the altered art classes that I am offering there.  I have been doing them for a year now and have begun to see that I am getting a following of like-minded folks in the class.  A few came and went, but that is okay.
Just to throw in a little banter....
I have been emailing some very good friends for over three years now.  We don't talk on the phone unless we absolutely have to.  We almost always know what the other is doing all day.  Do we get tired of it?  I don't think so...I don't.  It is basically what gave me the idea to start this blog.  In fact, I have enjoyed writing and receiving these emails so much that I decided to get an IPod...and I love it!  I can now write and receive emails after I have gone to bed for the evening.  Is that a little weird?!  Not sure.
As if that wasn't good enough, I then decided I needed a tablet to surf the web and do research...uh, and play games...LOL.
Well, I will mostly be talking about arts and crafts on this blog.  In fact, my first report is that I went to Home Depot today to look at kitchen sinks.  So, while there I managed to grab some more paint chips, but also to pick up a few test paint bottles for 50 cents each.  And then, I saw some metallic project paints by Martha Stewart in 10 oz. jars.  I am thinking they will be as good as Lumeniere and Golden for half the price or more.  I just got one jar to see what I thought of them before I spread the word to my friends on the quality.  I don't believe these are available in the arts and crafts stores, but I will check.
As I came into my studio, which is upstairs with my desktop computer station, I happened to notice that I had a paper punch or two that I had not really tried out.  I just love those things!!
I like to work with papers.   My friends Kathy and Kaye like it about as much as I do.  We are always sharing ideas and photos of the things we are working on or wanting to work on.   In fact Kathy just sent some photos of some Valentine projects she has been working on.  She actually sells stuff!!  Maybe that will be an objective for me in 2012, but I will have to give it a little more thought.
That is enough for this sitting cause I have lots of things to do before I settle down to my reading...Woman in White, Wilkie Collins...just love that Nook!  Carol (hubby) has one too that he calls his "nookie".  And so it is...LOL.
